Dear Mustang66lady,

Are you and your family okay? I saw on the weather that the St. Louis area was expecting some very bad weather. Please know we will be keeping you folks in our prayers.

Writer,

I'm so glad you got thru your storms; hope you didn't get much damage to your property from what you did go thru. We were under a tornado watch for several hours but the worst of things stayed pretty much south of St. Louis. We just had clouds and a little rain today. Thank you so much for being concerned. I was a little concerned for DH; he and some men from our church went on the annual men's fishing trip and retreat this weekend and they were tent camping. The area they were in was under the warning, too, but when I phoned his cell to be sure they all were aware of the warning, he said there was sun where they were at and all were happy fishing for their supper! Hope all are safe and sound everywhere tonight no matter where they live. I think we all could use a good night's sleep without worry about weather. Thanks for worrying and praying for us!

I see we have not heard from our dear Respect yet. Hope she is holding up thru all of this and that her dear Mother is stable if not doing better.

Chili,

I guess thinks are calm where you live? Don't you live in the north east, maybe closer to the area Respect is in? Did your snow ever melt? I would hate for you to just get rid of all that then get hit with spring rain and storms-you all have had enough bad weather for awhile! Sleep well tonight.

Peace to all.

Dear Mustang66lady,

Looks like more severe storms are forecast for this afternoon and evening for our area, so keep us in your prayers. I hope that things will be quiet in your neck of the woods. Ah, spring!

Good morning Kitchenettes!

Just checking in to see if everyone is up and safe this morning. Looks like bad storms in the south and our weather station showed film of baseball size hail in Texas. We are to have a calm weather week here this week.

DH got back from his fishing trip with the men from church. He is full of fish and someone brought some morel mushrooms they were lucky enough to find and nice enough to share. Sure wish I had a secret spot to hunt them in! Yesterday would have been a great day to hunt them since we had rain Saturday and a little increase in heat on Sunday. Glad DH got to eat some though as he had never had them before.

It is a little chilly here this morning but plan on doing work out on the deck to get it ready for summer living and cooking. Would like to buy the flowers for the front yard today and get those planted, too.

Hope our dear Respect has been able to rest and that things are working out for her and her family. We miss ((((you))))!

Dear Friends...wanted to pop in before I head off to let you know how very much I have appreciated your prayers and words of encouragement. Each has touched my heart completely! You will never know how special you have all been during this difficult time.

Know that our Father in Heaven answered your prayers! We placed mom in a wonderful facility late Friday night! No beds were available anywhere for days....then God in His mercy answered everyone's prayers and a bed became available...at our #1 choice!. It is a lovely place only 15 mins. from our home.

Mom is still being treated for the pneumonia and infection. Her ability to communicate is coming back in little bits....but as she becomes more coherent, she is realizing what is/has happened. She has been sobbing, sad and despondent. We are doing our best to cheer her up and be her support. All Sat. we set up her new room to look just like her previous apt. Then yesty. we emptied out her apt. of EVERYTHING and cleaned it. I am amazed at how many trips back and forth my DH truck has made! And I was the one who said..."What do we need a pickup for?" LOL Eating those words...WITH TURMERIC!! 1/4 tsp. down...LOL

Our little tiny family is exhausted but we are Praising Him knowing she now has 24 hr. care.

The rest will fall into place. I have begun the application/cancellation/disconnecting phase of everything. LOL So much to handle...my head is spinning! I have used all my personal time at work so I hope to be back full time in a few days. My boss has been very understanding, but in a small office....there is no one to do the work in my absence.

Again..hugs and thanks to you all. I have been so uplifted by your prayers and support. I will 'see' you all again in a few days.

Respect, how wonderful it is to hear from you and thank you for sharing your good news! It sounds like mom is doing better and is in very good hands. How lovely that the facility was your number one choice and so close to home!

Please know in time your mom will adjust and will be very happy knowing she is being cared for 24 hours a day and that you yourself are very close. It is not easy making the transition for anyone from child to caregiver but you are doing a great job. I knew He would smile on you and help you and your mom in your time of need. God bless all of you and thank you again for letting us know how you all are doing!
