@momtochloe

Loved your "Game of Thrones" dragon reference to Chloe -- bless her fierce little heart.  Yazzy is more like the dragon Tad Cooper (if you watched the series Galavant).  I wish for you that someday soon you can have another furbaby.  I always feel so much of your love for the People of Fur shining through your posts -- or is that "Furred Americans" ????

By the way, when I was catching up on all the posts I missed, I saw the "Hieroglyphics" section.  I had copied it into Word, but still got the font as Wingdings.  Thanks to the later post by VirginiaBelle, I finally had time to go back and find it and copy it into Notepad.  At last I know what my Secret Decoder Ring missed.  Who knew tablets spoke code to PC's?

(Oh, yeah, and the "at" symbol notification is working for me again now, too.)

Oh @Honeybit, that morning with the raccoon was quite a moment for me as Chloe was quite the typical Maltese . . . very happy just sitting in her bed and occasionally shifting positions to look out a different door . . . to hear that snarl (and may I add a lot of physical aggression thankfully contained within her Costco bed) I could not believe my docile furbaby was that primeval . . . fly on my Dragon Baby . . . @Honeybit I had to go back and Google Galavant but clearly I need to get better at familiarizing myself with current programming.   I am so stuck in terms of catching up with the past, I am missing the present.

I just got yet another letter from Comcast that now they are going to charge me for data usage (which was not in the original deal) so I quickly need to ween myself off of cable and now apparently streaming.  Those companies should be ashamed of themselves.

Are you and Mr. Writer feeling any better?  Did you ever figure out what was wrong?   Hope you didn't pick up something while at the hospital.  They are a petri dish of germs even though all precautions are taken.  Tell Rodney the Kitchenettes are waving hi to him and hope to see him wave with both hands soon!

Dear Mustang,

     You are the sweetest thing to be thinking of us and our friends.   Rodney is recovering more each day and will begin speech therapy soon.  He will be out of ICU in the next couple of days.  It is amazing that he survived at all in the first place and that he is recovering so quickly.  Kitchenettes, thanks so much for your concern and your prayers.  They truly have worked miracles!

I received two of the three handbags I ordered from HSN today.  Oh my, they are beautiful!  I haven't had time to inspect them since DH decided to work out of the house today.  He knows I got one box-he doesn't know two handbags were in there!  Both look much more expensive than what I paid and they were before the clearance but even at those prices, I think I would be just as pleased.  That IMAN straw handbag is the one I left out in view and it is gorgeous.  Wish it had still been available in the ivory but the raspberry red is not disappointing in any way. I am very impressed at how well made it is.

Dear Mustang,

     I am so glad that you were pleased with your purses.  I just was not able to get the white one ordered with everything that ended up happening last week.  It's good to know that they are such nice quality.  They looked like they would be.

     Things have continued to be so busy with us with our own illness, supporting our friends, and some people vandalizing a church in our area.  We have tried to be of help to the people at the church.  I took food over to the church staff on the day of the vandalism since they wanted to stay at the church until things got cleaned up a bit.  They were grateful and worn out emotionally.

     I just do not know what is wrong with people these days.  I guess Joyce Meyer is right:  "Hurting people hurt people."  I pray that the people who did this thing will come to God and get healed of the hurts that cause them to want to hurt other people.  Joyce also says, "Let your mess become your message."  I pray that God will change the hearts of the vandals and that they will ultimately become a testimony to God's ability to change hearts.

I'm so pleased Rodney is recovering so well. The brain is a miraculous organ, especially in the young.  Any word on the hoodlums who did this to him?  I was praying that the testimony of the spectators would help the police arrest his assailants.

You never did answer my question about you and Mr. Writer.  Are the two of you ok-have you gotten past this illness? I think you may have since you are helping another church, but also have the feeling you will push yourselves to the limit as well.  There is only so much you can do.

@mtc

I don't know if your "good" weather has anything to do with our bad but I know that "lake effect" has a lot to do with your weather.  I am used to this; have lived in the St. Louis area the majority of my life.  It has not been a pleasant area this summer for sure.  You should hear the tree frogs tonight-I bet there are thousand of them!  UGGGHHH!!!  I could't drink enough of Chili's Tree Frog cocktails tonight!

Oh and Writer,

That Christian Lacroix handbag is just lovely-I'm sure you would have loved it!  I can't believe the quality of these two bags.  I should get my Joy Mangano bag in the next day or two and it is the only one that is real leather.  I don't think I will be disappointed.  I moved my things in the Iman straw bag today.  Will have to carry the Christain Lacroix soon as well although I would describe the color as more of a winter white-something that you could carry most of the year.  I can't tell you all how pleased I am with these bags.  I feel like I may have stolen them!

@Writer with Flair thank you for sharing those words from Joyce Meyer as they really hit home with me.  I am so, so happy to know that Rodney is making such great progress and I hope that you are feeling much better as I know you were having tummy troubles.  Take care my friend . . . Heart

@mustang66lady you made me laugh about that lake effect weather.  When I was married and live up north, I could literally start to turn off the air in my car and roll down the windows when I turned a certain corner on my way home from work the temperature (and usually humidity) would drop that drastically.  Never ceased to amuse (and amaze) me . . . Smiley Happy

Wishing you better and cooler weather my friend . . . is it September yet?
