I had her do some paperwork tasks and she did a great job. (I think, lol)
She is quiet as a church mouse that girl!
Not sure when she will be back....
@RespectLife I know it's tough for you to have to babysit but I think it's kind of sweet that she wanted to come back and work with you. You are very kind to her which may help build some much needed confidence within her. Good on you Respect!
tee hee! @momtochloe
You are the sweet one!
I think it is a case that she wants money ....parents won't just fork it over...she has to earn it.
I TOTALLY respect that!
She is blessed to have a family that owns a business she and her brother can work at. She is only 16 and won't have to commit to a permanent summer job (like we all did at that age, LOL!!)
I honestly don't mind and shouldn't fuss. Just cramps my SINGLE office gal style having someone under foot! I is OLD and I is GROUCHY, I suppose! LOL

How do you mark the thread read? I never noticed that!
At the top of this thread next to the red Reply box, says Topic Options:
If you have unread posts, the first option should say Mark Topic as Read.
If not, then go out to the top of the Recipes forum.
Choose Options there and choose Mark All as Read.

Dear Kitchenettes,
We stayed late with our friends at the hospital tonight, so I am just now getting back to you. Our friends seemed to just want to have people around to talk and laugh with--which we were more than happy to do.
Today was a good day since the surgical procedure is doing exactly what it should do, as I said in my earlier post.
The doctor is gradually trying to wean my friend's son off some of the medicines he is on so they will better be able to see how he is doing on his own. It looks like it is going to be a long recovery. He currently is rated to be in "Fair" condition.
I could tell that a lot more of the swelling in his face had gone down--especially around his eyes.
Today, the police came in to take picture of my friend's son's injuries. My friend learned that someone came forward who saw what happened and told the police everything they knew--including the names of the people involved.
This is so horrific for my friend and her husband. She had already lost another son a few years back. (He had a heart attack at an early age.) I cannot believe that such a bad thing has happened to such a kind, cheerful, funny, and good man as her son. Please keep the whole family in your prayers.
On this Thankful Thursday, I am grateful that my friend's son is receiving the best medical care available and that my dear Kitchenette Friends are continuing to lift up Rodney and the rest of his family in prayer. Thank you so much.

Good morning @ChiliPepper, good morning Kitchenettes and yes welcome to Sizzlin' Friday . . . ![]()
@Writer with Flair as Chili said, so glad to hear Rodney is making steady progress and that they know who did this to him. I hope they pay for it to the absolute fullest extent of the law. The whole thing makes me so angry!
We sort of dodged a weather bullet here yesterday as it remained partly cloudy most of the day and then we had a huge storm roll through and brought the temperature down a bit and I am hoping for the same today. You know your weather is problematic when you are rooting for rain storms . . . ![]()
Have a good one my friends!
