ATTENTION KITCHENETTES!

I don't know how many of you realize that Jayne Brown's mother passed away recently.  I found the news on another thread.  Jayne was on one day when I was recovering from cancer in a Denim and Co. henley top that I fell in love with-ordered every color but black and requested other colors in this top.  She looked so nice in this top that I couldn't resist.  Even though I had ordered a few things prior to this purchase, seeing her in that top was what really made t.v. shopping "click" in my mind.  I was too ill to shop at stores and since I found out I had cancer on my birthday (Oct. 30) and Christmas was around the corner, all my gifts that year came from QVC.   Somehow, she just made me feel better that day.  I still have those tops-they wash like a dream and I don't think Denim and Co. has had the quality since but that day will always connect me with Jayne.  I found the announcement here;

Dear Kitchenettes,

Dear Kitchenettes,

     You'll never know how much your prayers have meant--and worked!  I have good news to report:  Rodney survived the surgery and appears to be doing well.  They took out part of his skull to relieve the pressure from the swelling of his brain.  The piece they took out is being frozen to be reattached in a few months.

     Please continue to pray for Rodney and the family.  I appreciate your prayers more than you can imagine.

Love,

Writer

@Writer with Flair thank you so much for this wonderful update.  Continued good thoughts and prayers throughout his recovery but I am so glad to hear things went so well!  Heart

Oh @mustang66lady your post so touched my heart!  When my mom and I were going through bad times QVC was a lifeline for us.  My mom so enjoyed watching and ordering things to cheer her up.

I can't imagine what you went through with your battle Mustang and I am so glad to hear they were so helpful to you in your time of need not only providing items you needed but also the camaraderie that we could all use sometimes.  QVC used to be my faithful overnight companion back in the day.

Hugs and good thoughts to you my friend (((mustang))) . . . Heart

Good morning Kitchenettes and welcome to Thankful Thursday!

Today I am thankful for a new company to check out for a job that my friend sent me, yay!

To all of those in the severe weather zone, please be safe my friends.  @mustang66lady I hope your weather is less severe than it has been and that your flooding has subsided.

Have a good one everybody and try and stay cool!  Smiley Happy

eta:  And I most thankful that @Writer with Flair friend Rodney is doing better, what great news.  I thought I had answered this as I was up late last night but I now realize I didn't.  Continued good thoughts and prayers for Rodney and his family.  Heart

Emmergency Prayer Request

     Please pray for our friend's son.  Someone hit him over the head or he fell (they are not sure) and he was found in his driveway.  He is now in intensive care and probably by now in surgery for a craneotomy.  I was at the hospital today and DH and I are getting ready to go back over there as soon as I finish this post.

     We called John Hagee's prayer line and Joyce Meyer's prayer line as well.  If you have prayer services, tonight or know of any other prayer lines, please lift him up.  His name is Rodney.  Thank you so much.

@Writer with Flair

Oh how sad and tragic.  I am so sorry to hear this.  In prayer right now for Rodney, his family, the doctors and for you and Mr. Writer as you minister to your friends.

I will continue to pray!

@Writer with Flair

Thank you for the update!

What blessed news to read on this Thankful Thursday.

A similar event happened to a guy that used to work for us.  He was attacked and also had to have part of his skull removed.  They actually placed it in his abdomen for keeping!  This was a couple years ago...so maybe freezzing is the new way.

Continued prayers!

To all our dear friends in the 'weather' path...stay safe, stay alert!  May God watch over all!

I am babysitting from 9-12 this morning...so I may not be on much til later in the day.

@momtochloe

Prayers, hugs and more prayers for this opportunity for you!  Praying good news will be with this one!  Stay strong, dear friend!  We are all rooting for success for you!!  No one deserves it more!!!!

@Writer with Flair  What wonderful news to see when logging on and on Thankful Thursday.  I didn't know they now freeze the skull part and re-attach it.  And sticking it in another part of the body is also interesting.  Back in they day, they just put in steel plates, didn't they?

The things they do in medicine today are truly remarkable.

I will continue to keep praying for a full recovery.

@momtochloe  And more good news on this Thankful Thursday for you as well.  I am praying for you and your job lead.

Nothing much to report here.  I am working from home today, so I will miss the heat wave.  I am catching up on reading, getting my notes out from the meeting yesterday and just chillin'.  My boss is on travel today and vacation tomorrow (as are several other team members).  I will go into the office tomorrow and work on a few things.  I am not motivated to work on them today.  LOL

Dear Chili,

     Rodney's mother (my friend) has been so focused on his present condition, that she has not said anything more about what they think happened to him.

     Thanks so much for your prayers.  They defintely are helping.
