I like the idea of spiced nuts too, I make them. You buy them pre-made??? Why am I wasting my time LOL???

Nuts burn so easliy too!

LOL

You got the FOOL part right anyways!  Ha ha!

I could have kept going!

NO, I now buy the GLAZED (sugared) Pecans instead of making them myself.

I have to make the spiced nuts.  and YES!  they sure do burn easily!  Can't take your eyes off them for one second!!

I made a really delicious nut, cranberry & coconut mixture last Thanksgiving time I believe it was.

I have tried several spiced nut recipes & never hit on just the right one yet.

@VaBelle35

Hey VaBelle, a fun thing to do this Christmas would be to post pictures of our favorite ornaments.

This one you just got is beautiful! Off hand my gingerbread men & women on cookie sheets would be my favorite, or one of my favorites.

Of course that doesn't count special ones from my childhood or ones DD or family members (like my Grandma) made.

If only we can remember 9 months from now LOL!!!

@ChiliPepper

I haven't tried making them for a snack...just always for a particular dessert or recipe.

Everybody...

Someone started a thread thanking David for the Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta Salad recipe...it looked really good!

You should check it out!  Not very 'light' but the ingredients all sound really good...esp. for a cookout sidedish!

mmmm...BACON!

I have to start learning to freeze it in smaller quantities though!  I have 2 rock hard big pkgs in the freezer but usually only need a couple slices for a recipe.

Otherwise, I will have to cook it all...which leads to EATING IT ALL!!

@RespectLife

Yay, my problem too.

Now, I take the package, cut it in fourths, fifths or so, freeze it flat & them bag up the sections once frozen. That way the sections don't freeze together, can be taken out one at a time & they thaw & cook easily.

My motto: if you COOK the package, you EAT the package!!!
