My eyes don't seem red today, but still a little puffy underneath.  I'm working from home today as I have absolutely nothing to do,so I can rest them and get a lot of cleaning done before my vacation starts Smiley Very Happy

I have a repeat of yesterday's conference call this afternoon, which is dangerous for me to do at home as I removed all of the sharp objects from my office so that I wasn't tempted to hurt myself or others when I have to deal with people who annoy me to no end.

I converted to this type of letter opener years ago:

From the serated type:

As word starts to circulate that I'm on vacation next week, I imagine the panic will set in and people will start trying to get me to do things before I leave.  NOT. GONNA. HAPPEN.

@momtochloe For $5.03 can get you a fancy cup of coffee or a lunch special somewhere.  Plus, it's not taxable income.  If this keeps up, by Friday, you should be able to get a 2 for 1 dinner ;o)

Mergers and acquisitions are my specialty, too.  I came up through the law firm system in the 80s, where every day someone's bad mood created a new law firm partnership.  We had the stencil company on speed dial because we changed the company name so many times.

I think you are so smart to be doing this.  During a merger is the perfect time to get your foot in the door somewhere so you can network your way through to a job in your skillset from the inside.  And honestly, knowing the company from this angle is going to be a huge asset for you.

I see big things for you in the very near future.  And in the meantime, fabulous stories to share.

Yes, I am completely on board with the Spiced Honey Cream.

I see that in my immediate future.  I think that would be good with hot chocolate with a splash of bourbon and vanilla.

Nope...not those.  Here is the recipe.  Uses Crescent rolls but it wasn't on the link.  I got it back in 2014

Sopapilla Cheesecake Bars

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

1 cup white sugar  ** see note

1 teaspoon Mexican vanilla extract

2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent rolls

3/4 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup butter, room temperature

1/4 cup honey

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Beat the cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar and the vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.

Unroll the cans of crescent roll dough, and use a rolling pin to shape each piece into 9x13 inch rectangles.   Press one piece into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture into the baking dish, then cover with the remaining piece of crescent dough.

Stir together 3/4 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and butter. Dot the mixture over the top of the cheesecake.

Bake in the preheated oven until the crescent dough has puffed and turned golden brown, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey. Cool completely in the pan before cutting into 1 inch squares.

**NOTES: I reduced the sugar in the cheese filling, it doesn't need that much.

Also, it was suggested to  melt the butter and mixe it with the cinnamon and sugar and this would make it easier to spread over the top of the dough.  I can't remember if I did that or left it crumbly.
