So friends, let's tune into "how was mtc's second day of training shall we?"

First off, today's body count is three which makes a total of six (including unfortunately my lovely friend but we will keep in touch).  Two didn't show up at all and they other never came back from lunch which worked out well for her as they were going to walk her out anyway.

They switched our seats around so I have a new friend who was most enjoyable.  The work today was a better for me as it was more Customer focused which is my strong suit.  Plus that trainer left mid-session and we had two fun ones so things went much better I think for everyone.  I felt bad for the trainer that asked if anyone else was planning on quitting (clearly they are getting worried but that trainer really should be directed to another vocation).

I was feeling very, very down this morning and could barely drag my sorry rump out of bed and into the shower but once again my dad showed up not once but twice.

I had to drop off a quick package at UPS and when walking about found a brand new $5 bill!  That has never happened to me before in my life so I think it was my dad's way of bribing me to stick it out another day plus when I opened my car door when I got to work there were two pennies waiting for me . . . Smiley Happy

As for why people just walk away . . . hard to say/explain.  The class is basically under 25/over 55.  I would imagine the under 25's think they don't need this qrap and the over 55 think they can't possibly do that qrap.  What's so hard for me is that they are struggling now with a merger with Pro Flowers and I have such depth with that sort of thing, there I know I could help them . . . ah so close but yet so far.

To those of you that have jobs that you even remotely like please know you are lucky as it is not pretty out there . . . Smiley Happy

But I am up $5.03!

Now I have to go see what's cooking on that thread you guys are talking about . . .

@ChiliPepper

I too echo that I hope your eyes are feeling better.  This time of year is brutal for that kind of thing with allergy season coming on.  @VaBelle35 didn't you have a similar issue last year or so?

And I think you folks were talking wine on some posts and my vote goes for Trader Joe's Charles Shaw (also known as Two Buck Chuck).  Cheap and delicious, it's all I buy!

Oh my friend, I'm so sorry your day didn't go all that well. I know its so hard to start over at a new job plus a job not really in your field.

But, for what its worth, I am very, very proud of you for stepping up & doing what you have to do to get back into the work force. I just know that this is just the beginning for you - doors are opening & they will soon see what a treasure they have in you.

Your Dad is trying to tell you that too so hold tight to that $ 5.03 my friend!!! Your dear Dad is smiling down on you!

@mtc

mtc, is that wine for drinking or cooking?

Geeez, I don't remember seeing wine at any of our stores. I wonder if ours sell it.

Oh gesh, never mind - I'm thinking Aldis not TJ's.

Duh Chili!

Hmmmm @ChiliPepper . . . this is kind of a trick question as for people like me that aren't exactly wine people I love TJ's wine but I know my friend that really knows her way around a vineyard may not agree with me.

I think for cooking absolutelyI would recommend it but I also enjoy the leftovers with my dinner . . . Smiley Happy

And ps, Aldi's has some lovely wines too!  I bought one of those huge bottles of some kind of a red wine (maybe a cab?) and I loved it and the price was so reasonable (apologies in advance to those that actually know what they are doing when it comes to wine).

mtc,

You are the bravest friend I have!  And I think you are going to OWN that job!  Take it easy on yourself and give things time-it will work out.  Your Dad and your Father in Heaven are looking out for you.

I think a lot of younger people feel they are entitled to more than this job offers and give up.  Older people may feel they are going backwards at a time when they should be on top of their game.  Maybe they view this job as embarrassing.  I will tell you this; DH hires and lays off people as necessary but he always says it is easier to hire someone who is working.  This may not be the job for you, but it may be easier to get another job as you work this one.  And as one extremely wise preacher's wife told our ladies group, it is your job to bloom where you are planted.  God has a job for you to do at FTD.  Someone needs a friend, someone needs leadership, there is something you only you can provide.  Throw yourself into this job.  Bloom there-something good is going to happen or come from this job.  It is your duty to be ready for this.  In the meantime, we are here to cheer you on or up, to sound off to-whatever you need.  Heart

Vabelle,

Don't mess with your eyes.  If things don't clear up soon, see your eyedoctor.  Allergy eyes are miserable but vision is not something to mess with.  And those WC's are not going to be noticing anything but your "I fought Rocky and lost" eyes if they stay red and puffy!

Respect,

I have never heard of the wine you referred to but have heard and partook of Boone's Farm back in the day.  Are any of you familiar with Annie Greensprings?  Very much like Boone's Farm.  Both popular with the hippy groups back in the late '60's and early '70's.  And I agree, neither would be good for cooking!  I believe both are apple based wines and very sweet.  But the memories of strawberry wine......!
