I am flagging this for @Writer with Flair as she is interested in no salt spices but on another thread a new poster recommended a site called My Spice Sage.

What a wonderful site, so many different spices that you can buy in very small amounts if you are looking to try them first and no S&H on any orders!

If you get a chance, take a look over there . . . lots of fun for everyone . . . Smiley Happy

Happy, happy Valentines Day my Vivacious Kitchenette Vixens!!!!

OMG, I can't change colors on this tablet. You all know me & my colors! All the pinks & reds you will all be without today LOL!!! What a missed opportunity!!!!

So, sunny but - 10 (yes minus 10) degrees here with wind chills of minus 25!!!!!! I feel bad for the animals & anyone working outside!

My car won't start, ugh!!!!! I wasn't going anywhere but I figured I should start it & let it run in this cold. I'm gonna go try the power box thing on it & see if that will work. Keep your fingers crossed for me & my old gal!

Greetings Amazon Virgins and other friends LOL

Amazon (like QVC) is built on convenience.  I use it for things I can't find locally or that will save me a trip or save me from going to 8 different stores trying to find the exact item I want (like Pineapple Extract).  But, more than once they have sent me the wrong thing (and in those instances they just refunded my money vs sending it back because it's a small item).

The reviews are the best reason to visit the site.  You can really get a sense of something because it usually has 100s (if not 1000s) of reviews.  And some people do videos and lengthy instructional guides in their reviews.

Most items are the same price or more than other places.  I tend to put a bunch of stuff in my cart as I think of them and then eventually I get to $35 and hit the buy button.

My company benefits program and my Visa Signature card all give me Amazon gift cards, so I pile them up there and use them to buy things.  It's like free shopping.

re cold

I was out and about today. It wasn't too bad running in and out of the stores and using my remote starter to have the car warm at all times.  It is supposed to snow/ice/whatever starting late Sunday night into Tuesday, so I want to get outside before I'm stuck in the house for 3 days.

@momtochloe  I cannot believe what you are dealing with with your taxes.  This should be bumped up to the highest levels of the company to straighten out (and it should all be free of charge).

My taxes are pretty straightforward, so I just use TurboTax online every year.  If I had something more complicated,  I'd use an accountant.  Even my BIL, who is a CPA, uses a tax accountant.  He could do it himself, but he isn't as up to speed on every nuance of personal taxes.  He focuses more on business taxes.

I need to find something to do tomorrow.  I think I'm all shopped out.

@VaBelle35 well aparently H&R Block isn't up to speed on the nuances either as I rudely pointed out to them when I was imparting my displeasure to them.  I hold out very little hope of getting any kind of a refund on what I paid them to do my taxes but hope springs eternal but make no mistake there will be a full court press to get some kind of a refund on their fees.

Look, if I am anything I am pragmatic.  A lot of people I pay money to failed me here but the bottom line is the bottom line.  I owe a lot of money that I was not expecting to be paying so unfortunately back to my shrinking 401K I go.

I am just so glad I have you ladies to speak to or otherwise I would be going completely bonkers . . . sigh . . . again, it is what it is . . . Smiley Happy

Thanks everybody!   Heart

I had to check QVC's website to see what a "moppine" was, but now that I know,  here's an opinion........

I own something very similar--made of quilted terrycloth. It's about 20 years old, has withstood many turns through the washer and dryer,  and serves me well just about every day in the kitchen, BUT NOT FOR THE PURPOSE THAT  ITS DESIGNERS ENVISIONED.

I agree with the negative review from one person (which appears with the moppine description) that it is awkward to use when removing  pans from the oven. It literally would hook your arms together and rob you of flexibility in handling the cookware.

I use mine every day on top of my countertop as a trivet  or "hot pad" for  just-out-of-the-oven cookware that might otherwise shatter when it hits a cool countertop or would burn the countertop's surface.

The best oven mitts I've ever owned are in use to this day.........still available at BedBathBeyond with silicone stripes that enable you to grip a pan securely.  I'll try to find a link for you and post it here.

Howdy all! And Happy Valentine's Day to all my SWEETIE PIES here!!

I agree with @novamc1

My mopines went back in a recall due to a stink issue. I didn't like it anyways. Found it extremely awkward to use. Almost dropped dishes using it. It was a giant towel that very much got in my way.

Thanks @novamc1. For the suggestion of those mitts. Gonna check them out.

I have two Ovegloves from Amazon that I love

The reviews posted on QVC for the moppines are not very good. In fact, they're pretty dismal.  Although I'm not familiar with the item, it seems to me that two small dishtowels or simple hot pads (one in each hand) might work just as well........but whadda I no?

Maybe I just like to have my thumb free to help grip a dish, rather than having it confined with the rest of my hand.
