Yikes, how could that be? I thought that there was some kind of rule that you had to interact with Amazon if you are allowed to live in the US? . . . egads, I am going to have to sleep on this . . . . how could this be? . . . .![]()

Hey Thanks, mtc. It's still there but some better. I was able to clean house over two days instead of my usual one day and I sure hurt at night. But Saturday when it hit me, I couldn't do anything but sit down-I couldn't walk. Just took it easy Monday and Tuesday and took things slow as I cleaned Wednesday and Thursday. I will hurt tonight though-have done 4 loads of laundry up and down stairs, taken care of my grandson who is sick with upper respiratory infection, ran to the grocery store and pharmacy. In a couple of hours, will have to take him to meet up with his father for the weekend. Grandma will be ready for an adult beverage before bed tonight or the demons in my joints will keep me awake for sure!

YEAH CHILI!!!!
I'm not alone on the Amazon trail!
Do you think we are missing out on things or is it better not to know?

I have ordered a few things from Amazon, but I find the site most useful for its customer reviews of products.
Just about anything you might be thinking of buying is available at Amazon and is bound to have some very meaty reviews--good info no matter where you choose to purchase the item.

mtc,
What a major aggravation all that tax stuff is! I hope you can get it all straightened out and can be done with it once and for all. Argh! Double Argh!
After telling you numerous times I was going to go to the Penzey's B&M store, I finally up and did it today. Of course, I got some more of the Bavarian Spice (salt-free and fabulous on pork) and some of the new Curry Powder. That place really smells wonderful!
Respect,
Thanks for suggesting giving up something for Lent. I am praying about that.
Mustang,
I was at Tuesday Morning today and saw a lot of Rachel Ray stuff. I looked for the pot holder thingies ("Moppines"), but did not see any at the one store I went to.
If you have a TM near you, you might want to call them to see if they have any of the pot holder thingies in your area before you go. I have found that they are good about looking for things in other stores for me.
Take care of your self. I will keep you in my prayers, my friend. Hope you will be pain free soon.
Novamc,
Thanks for the heads up about the All-Clad oven mitts. I love anything All-Clad. Their quality is outstanding. I love their pots and pans, but they are pricey and a bit heavy for me to lift. I guess I could get a set and justify the expense to my DH by saying that they are not only cookware but also exercise equipment to improve my upper body strength. :-)
I have bought lots of stuff from Amazon and have been satisfied with what I got. I agree with you that their reviews are very helpful. As with ebay sellers, you need to carefully check out the seller reviews before you buy from them. Also be sure you are comfortable with the seller's return policy (some people charge a restocking fee) and be clear about who pays return shipping costs.
VaBelle, HoneyBit, and Chili,
Hope you are all staying warm and having a good weekend. No matter what the weather, I am sending warm thoughts and ((((((hugs)))))) in your direction, my friends.
All Kitchenettes,
Has anyone ever used the "Dessert for Two" cookbook? I saw someone refer to it and wondered if anyone had ever tried the recipes in it.

Good morning Kitchenettes!!! Happy, happy Sub-zero Saturday!!!!
1 (yes one!!!!) degree this morning! Can't even imagine what the wind chill is.
Heading back out to shovel. Can't stay out very long at a time!
I'll catch up later, keep your fingers crossed my modem holds out a few more days LOL
!

@ChiliPepper I hope you are shoveled, toasty and warm and have unfettered access to your modem . . . . I wish that for you and more . . . ![]()

Greetings Amazon Virgins and other friends LOL
Amazon (like QVC) is built on convenience. I use it for things I can't find locally or that will save me a trip or save me from going to 8 different stores trying to find the exact item I want (like Pineapple Extract). But, more than once they have sent me the wrong thing (and in those instances they just refunded my money vs sending it back because it's a small item).
The reviews are the best reason to visit the site. You can really get a sense of something because it usually has 100s (if not 1000s) of reviews. And some people do videos and lengthy instructional guides in their reviews.
Most items are the same price or more than other places. I tend to put a bunch of stuff in my cart as I think of them and then eventually I get to $35 and hit the buy button.
My company benefits program and my Visa Signature card all give me Amazon gift cards, so I pile them up there and use them to buy things. It's like free shopping.
re cold
I was out and about today. It wasn't too bad running in and out of the stores and using my remote starter to have the car warm at all times. It is supposed to snow/ice/whatever starting late Sunday night into Tuesday, so I want to get outside before I'm stuck in the house for 3 days.
@momtochloe I cannot believe what you are dealing with with your taxes. This should be bumped up to the highest levels of the company to straighten out (and it should all be free of charge).
My taxes are pretty straightforward, so I just use TurboTax online every year. If I had something more complicated, I'd use an accountant. Even my BIL, who is a CPA, uses a tax accountant. He could do it himself, but he isn't as up to speed on every nuance of personal taxes. He focuses more on business taxes.
I need to find something to do tomorrow. I think I'm all shopped out.
