Good evening

Work is really busy and I had to drop my car off for service and then go grocery shopping this evening.  I'm still at my kitchen table waiting for an employee to go online and order a replacement birth certificate so we can close out his personnel record.  It never ends.

re cooking this weekend

I will post my recipes as I make them.  I am making a beef roast with home made onion soup mix in the crock pot.

I am making the pork chops with gravy recipe I posted a while back.  I'll report.

I am also making an egg dish with turnips instead of potatoes.  It shoudl be interesting and lower carb.

I am also making a bacon cheesburger chowder from Taste of Home that looks good.  Pioneer Woman made a hamburger soup recipe this week but it didn't look appealing, probably because there was no cheese in it.  LOL

re Pinterest

Respect - when you get a link to a pin, click somewhere on the big picture in the middle of the page and it will take you out to the website where the recipe is located.

re Thankful Thursday

I'm so happy to be almost done with this allergy test.  Overall it was not so bad, but it did hamper my week.  I thought I would get more done than I did.  The patches stayed on even though the tape was a mess back there.  So it's a good test.  Once the patches come off and the allergens mix with oxygen, they start to itch or burn or whatever.  I feel a little prickley every once in a while but it's not red or anything back there as far as I can tell.  They don't want you to scratch because it impacts the size of the welts and throws off the test (plus you transfer the allergens to other parts of your body making it worse for yourself, sort of like chicken pox).  But it's not bad, I don't want to rip my skin off or anything.  I will be able to take benedryl after they read the results at 11:15 tomorrow.

Mercifully, my appointments have been on time as I am not seeing the doctor.

My car dealership is like a maze of men to avoid.  Oy!  There is one service manager who took over the team I was on who is trolling for women customers so that he can stay in my town, close to his work vs driving home to his mother's house.  When I first joined his team, I thought he was coming on a little strong, but I thought maybe he was just doing that to make his customers feel good or something.  But he got my cell phone number and started power texting me.  I was running around and didn't see the texts until I got home and a quick lookup on Facebook was all I needed to see to know I needed to run in the other direction.  Anyone who doesn't protect their Facebook page and make sure it's private is a out for me.  Three children, three different women, unsure if he married any of them.  Lives with his mother.  I stopped reading there.

There is also another nice man who is much older, who keeps trying to ask me out.  I keep skirting.  I don't want to say I'm not available because the dealership is a gold mine for meeting male customers, so I just have to avoid and deflect.  LOL

I also have been so busy that I haven't gone to vote absentee in person.  I might try to swing by tomorrow.  An old boyfriend works my voting center (he volunteers for the local Republican Party) and I hate to run into him and have to talk to him and "catch up."  I have another old boyfriend who is running for a state seat on Tuesday.  The local news has been doing a lot of pieces on him so his face shows up in my newsfeed a lot.

I feel like I'm being chased by all the wrong men.

But, better to be chased by the wrong men than to not be chased at all.

Hiya Chili . . . I am going to be heading out for a bit to go make my monthly (read endless) furniture payment and then I have a coupon for a dollar off a sub sandwich at Jersey Mike's so I am going to treat myself to one.

It's a toss up between the roast beef and provolone or the tuna salad . . . and of course I will end up with the ham and cheese as always.

How goes it by you on this Fabulous Friday? . . . Smiley Happy

Re: Quick Pot Sticker Soup

[ Edited ]

Happy Friday!  Oh my gosh it was dark and wet this morning on my drive to work...not to mention how unmotivated I was to try getting out of bed in total darkness.  I'm ready for the time change.

I ran across a recipe on Facebook this morning that looks delish so I'm going to give this one a try over the weekend...I have some bananas that didn't get used up for lunches this week so perfect time to try out the recipe.

Annie's Banana Crumb Cake

This recipe takes Banana Bread to a whole new level of Awesomeness!!

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 ripe bananas
1/2 cup melted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sour milk ( add 1 Tbsp of vinegar to milk and let sit 5 minutes)

For the streussel :
3/4 cup (12 Tbsp) melted butter
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon

For the glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9Ă—13 baking dish with cooking spray, set aside.
In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.
In another bowl, mash bananas. Mix in butter until combined and then mix in sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla. With mixer running on low, carefully add flour and mix until just combined.
Prepare streussel by combining all the ingredients in a medium bowl, mix in the butter until a coarse crumb forms.
Pour 1/2 of the batter into the prepared pan. Top with 1/3 of the crumb mixture. Cover the filling with the remaining batter and top with remaining crumb mixture. Bake for 50-55 minutes until the center is set and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for at least 1 hour.
Mix together the glaze ingredients and drizzle over the cake before serving.
