I put sausage or ground beef in the mix when I make this (along with a jar of queso) and the velveeta. Just wondering if anyone had made this using taco meat?

If by taco meat you mean seasoned hamburger, I think that would be a perfect choice. Our convenience store has taco hamburger and sloppy Joe hamburger precooked and sold by the pound. I love it!

Never tried it, but if you mean perpared, seasoned taco meat, it sounds delish.

A friend of mine did that awhile back.  She had hamburger seasoned with a packet of taco mix, for taco meat and then added the cheeses etc to make the dip.  For me it was on the salty side.  The chips (tortilla rounds) had salt in them, the meat, then the cheese... too much.  To be fair, I am a bit on the salt sensitive side.  Others might find it perfectly fine.

Just thought I would mention it.
