If a recipe is for 8x8, can I double the recipe and bake in a 9x13? Will bake time be the same? TIA !

Krusteaz raspberry bars. A friend gave me two boxes and each box calls for 8x8.
I would like to use both boxes and use a 9x13.

No, the bake time will not remain the same.

It should be more. A cake in a 9x13 bakes for at least 35 minutes. If the bars bake for close to 20 minutes, I would start checking them at 30.

@Pezzie since the bars are a two step process, you should be able to see when the crust is brown around the edges and then when filling is bubbly and top is golden. i would use the orginal instructions and add time as needed. sounds delicious.

Anytime you double a recipe, the time required to cook it will increase.
