I have issues growing basil because here, in the woods, the "yard art" (my wildlife)  make it impossible.  I got great pesto from a friend of DH but it's been a while Smiley Sad.

Have any of you bought pesto from Fresh Market?

What I got at my regular grocer was horrible!!!

Many thanks!

Re: Question About Fresh Market

I can't answer to Fresh Market but if you can get to Costco they have an outstanding pesto available. It's the Kirkland brand and made in the USA.

I've been noticing various pesto offerings in more and more stores but havn't tried them.

Re: Question About Fresh Market

@sandraskatesThank you so much, but we don't have a Costco.  We have a large locally owned, Harris Teeter, Publix. and Fresh Market.  Sams on the other side of town which I can easily get to.

Re: Question About Fresh Market

why not just buy fresh basil from the fresh market and make your own? that is what i usually do. i make it fresh and store it in a lock and lock.

i have not tried the prepared pesto from the fresh market, but i have bought the one from sams club that is quite good.

this is the recipe i use....

Re: Question About Fresh Market

@sunshine45 - I have at times made my own pesto and honestly, I just can't do it any better than the Kirkland offering from Costco. :-)

Also, the price of pine nuts has gone through the roof. I know you can use other nuts in place but for me, I'll take the lazy way out. LOL!

Basil can be grown very easily in pots.  It also grows nicely inside if placed in a sunny location.
