QUESTION.......NO BAKE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

[ Edited ]

Last year I made the recipe for the no bake Peanut Butter Cookies with oatmeal.  My question is do you use instant oatmeal or the original oatmeal in this recipe?  I don't remember what I used.  I see recipes on the net some stating instant and others stating the original.  My friend has been asking me to make these for him for months so any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I have used whichever one I have on hand at the time.  The original gives a more pronounced looking flake in the cookie.  Either one works well.  Enjoy!  Smiley Happy

I use old fashioned rolled oats. I find the texture to be much better. Instant oats absorb their surrounding ingredients much faster and it makes a big difference in the texture. Also, as a tip, and yes, I know these are no-bake, I like to toast my oats in the oven for a few minutes (then cool) before adding them. Gives them a great flavor....not as raw tasting.
