I have several pumpkins around the house for decoration. Most of them are pie pumpkins. I know they are good for cooking. My question is about the small ones. They aren't the decor pumpkins with a coating on them, just regular small pumpkins. They aren't marked as to what kind they are. Has anyone cooked these small pumpkins, or should I just donate to wildlife when I'm ready to change decor? Thanks in advance.

Re: Pumpkin Question

@Renata22 @The small pumpkins are usually a variety that contains tons of seeds as compared to pulp. The quantity of seeds is much higher than in a single large size variety of pumpkin. The pulp is very grainy in most varieties.

@Mindy D  Oh ok. Thanks for responding. I guess I'll be putting them outside when we're done with them.

Good to know. I have 2 small ones on my porch.I will seed them. then put out for deer to eat. Clean the seeds, put a little melted butter on them, and a wisp ofWorchester sauce, lay them  out on a cookie sheet, lightly salt them, and bake them on low for a couple hours.

@HLP Do you eat the outside of the seeds? That recipe sounds delicious.
