@SandySparkles So do I!  I don't eat or use much but when I do, I  use Kerrygold.  Sometimes I'll try another small batch but KG is my preferred.

Yes butter freezes rather well, actully.  Or this might be the year to cut your holiday baking down by 50%.

Everyone ran out yesterday to buy butter so they could make the butter board that was presented on GMA.

Many of these shortages as a result of pandemic-related supply chain issues and the ongoing war in Ukraine. Some are also fueled by ongoing droughts and higher temperatures caused by climate change. The butter shortage is caused by lower milk production on dairy farms.

Bakings season is upon us, so there will be more demand for sure!

And yes, freezing butter is totally fine to do!

I buy butter whenever it's on sale and usually at Kroger because it's the best price.  Usually it's a Digital Coupon deal, buy 5 at $2.49.  Been doing this for a couple of years now.  I have at least 10 boxes of butter in my freezer.  I freeze it all the time with no problems.

Yes, I always freeze butter until I need it. Mom did, Gramma did.

IMO, the problem with the price on many things is corporate greed.

In this case, a lot of dairy products come from corporate factory farms and they can jack up prices anytime, and do. They lost some of their biggest buyers due to tariffs imposed a few years ago so they make up the loss however they can...on meat, poultry, vegetables, and dairy. I go out of my way to buy from family farms instead.

@Luvsmyfam

I have always froze butter, all brands, no problem.

Butter isn't going to go up, IT IS UP ALREADY!

I was paying $2.99 (last Christmas $1.99) and it is over $4 already, EVERY store in my area.

There will be a LOT less Christmas Cookies this year until someone does something about this recession!!!!

I can't remember the last time I bought butter, if ever.

I just bought a pound this morning at $4.48 when it's normally $2.98. So, yeah, it's gone up. As has everything I bought this morning. The inflation numbers will be interesting to see when the year is done as it seems a lot higher than what the media/experts say.

@AuntG $2.49 is a very good price!  I paid $3.99 on sale and bought a few.

The price of butter (and eggs!) won't keep me from baking this holiday.  Baking is what I enjoy doing and is my stress reliever after working with data and numbers all day Smiley Happy
