I paid $3.29 for a dozen organiz cage free brown eggs at my Giant Eagle on Saturday.  I stopped by Aldi on my way home and noticed conventional eggs were $2.09 a dozen.

I was just at Aldi

$2.68 dozen regular eggs

$4.50 for cage free brown

I'm not complaining. I remember paying 68¢ for eggs there a few years ago. I take the good with the bad and understand how the world cyclically works

I wonder if it's all fake ... still trying to cash in on that old reason "shipping issues, etc.". Price gouging our pockets.

A dozen large regular at Trader Joe's in NYC currently $2.99.  Last week was $2.49 and previously $2.29.  At other supermarkets a couple of dollars higher.

It's not price gouging.  Even at current prices, an omelet is still an inexpensive lunch.

As a protein source, they're still a bargain.  100% edible, no waste.

6 Count - $1.92

12 Count - $3.33

18 Count - $4.92

36 Count - $9.82

60 Count -$16.16

A year ago here (Michigan), eggs used to be around 60 cents a dozen.  Pre-Covid sometimes you could get a dozen for 17 cents.

Ahh the glory years 😆
