I found a recipe of my mothers the other day and haven't had it for years and can't wait to make it again. Howerver, all I found were the ingredients but no instructions on oven temp and time. It is just a simple, simple dish
Layer 1 lb raw hamburger on bottom of casserole
Layer sliced raw potatoes over the burger
Layer sliced onions over the potatoes
Layer 1 can kidney beans and juice over all and then top with 1 can cream of tomato soup.
Think 350 for an hour? 375?
TIA

I have a similar recipe and it calls for 350 for 1 hour.

Most casseroles are at 350 to allow the middle to cook without burning the top.
I'd give it an hour and check the tenderness of the potatoes with a fork. Your slices may be thicker than hers, her oven's temp could have run warm/cooler.
I would spray the casserole first. Enjoy!

Thanks guys! I only hope it's as good as what my moms was!

This sounds delicious! I'd like to try it (it has all my favorite foods...lol!) Is creamy tomato soup the same as say Campbell's condensed tomato soup? Or should the soup specifically say CREAM? I've never made a casserole without browning the hamberger first. Please let us know how yours turns out. Thanks, Star

@Starpolisher. She said Cream of tomato, not creamy. Plain old Campbell's tomato soup

Thank you. I meant to say "cream" and have corrected my previous post. I asked because the Campbell's soup I have says condensed but they do make a creamy one also.

Morning
I made the casserole last night and it was delicious!! I should have used some more potatoes though. It was a little "soupy" but sure did hit the spot! I baked it at 350 for 1 hour.
Thanks again

I'm going to make it bit will use ranch style kidney beans and a layer of Hatch green chile. Maybe a little smokey paprika and cumin.

(I'd go with 80/20 ground beef, so the bottom doesn't equate to a pool of beef fat. You could also sprinkle panko all over the bottom.)
