I am trying to figure out what to make for dinner.

I have a pound of flounder and was thinking of making flounder piccata. I do not have any fresh lemons. But have several limes. Do you think limes would work?

I have already been to the grocery once today and really don't feel like going again just for lemons.

@drizzellla Try it!  They might be better.  We use a lot of limes around here for salads, and in place of salt.

@We rescue catsand @Sooner

Well, I zested the lime and squeezed the juice. And now the house smells like lime. So I am going ahead and at least the house smells nice.

So I am committed now. And no turning back.

I've been using lime juice alot lately--in the bottle tho---I know, fresh is best--but I really like it when mashing up avocados--seems to give a really nice flavor  while helping control the browness.

WELL - the lime sauce tasted so good. I really liked the sauce by itself.

BUT when I ate the linguine and flounder, the sauce tasted good. But my brain was still wanting the lemon laste.

I have eaten chicken piccata with lemon a number of times. And guess my brain was still associating lemon with piccata. So next time I will stick with lemon.
