Hello everyone!

I copied this recipe from a local TV show to share with you. The show is having The 12 Days of Cookies and they have some good ones! These are small balls decorated with white glaze and then drizzled with red colored glaze, dripped from a spoon in a zigzag pattern. You can then immediately sprinkle with crushed candy canes or crushed peppermint hard candy. The cookies end up having a refreshing peppermint taste and are very delicate looking. Yummmm

Cake decorator, Nancy Burgeson, shows off her baking talents with day 6 of Twelve Days of Cookies!

½ cup powdered sugar
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup softened Land O Lakes® Butter

In large mixing bowl combine sugar, butter and extract. Beat at medium speed until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour and cornstarch. Beat until well-blended. Cover; refrigerate until firm (30 to 60 minutes). Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly brown. Cool completely.

GLAZE:

1 ½ cups powdered sugar
¼ tsp peppermint extract
2 tsp softened butter
2-3 drops red food coloring
1-2 tbsp milk
crushed peppermint candies, if desired

In small bowl combine powdered sugar, butter and peppermint extract. Gradually add enough milk for desired glazing consistency. Stir in food coloring if desired. Drizzle over cookies. Immediately sprinkle with crushed candy if desired.
