I want to make a pecan pie but don't want to buy all the ingredients for just 1 pie....I know I have seen Pecan Pie in a Jar to purchase.....does any one have a recommendation of a particular brand to purchase?

thanks!

A bit off your request, @Mom2Dogs, but I am considering trying these.

@tansyHmmmm, those look good!

I could also make Peacn Tassies but I have mini pie pans and was thinking about making several different pies for variety...we are a dessert loving group!

What are you missing? You say you don't want to buy the ingredients but everything in the pecan pie I make are pantry ingredients I always have.

Why don't you just buy a pie at a grocery store's bakery?

I have never tried Pecan Pie in a Jar. I found this recipe online that sounds easy enough that I'm going to try instead of the pies this year.

Easy Pecan Pie Bars

Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutes Total Time: 45 minutes

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line a 9x13-inch pan with foil, leaving enough for a 2-inch overhang on all sides.
  • Unroll dough, separate dough into 2 long rectangles and place in 13x9-inch pan; press over bottom and 1/2 inch up sides to form crust.
  • Bake 8 minutes.
  • Combine all filling ingredients except 3/4 cups pecans in bowl and mix well.
  • Stir in pecans.
  • Spread evenly over hot, partially baked crust.
  • Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until filling is set and golden brown.
  • Cool about 1 hour; cut into bars.

We don't all have corn syrup, molasses or very expensive pecans.

Only a couple of people like that pie...I would like to have a variety so I was going to use my mini pie pans to make several varieties....
