I make this bread every summer when peaches are in season!

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup sugar

1 Tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

1/3 cup milk

2 eggs, well beaten

2 tsps vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches

Topping

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 Tbsp brown sugar

2 Tbsp cold butter

Preheat oven to 350.

For the bread, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together the lemon juice, milk, eggs, and vanilla. Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture. Do not overmix. Fold in the peaches. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.

For the topping, combine the flour, brown sugar, and butter in a bowl. Crumble the mixture together with your hands. Sprinkle the crumbled mixture over the top of the bread batter.

Bake bread for 50 minutes.
