no, I dont use the raw ones, if I did, THEN i would have to toast them first, I guess..I buy the roasted ones..the "regular" kind..you dont have to spring for the whole ones, halves and pieces are fine!

Re: Pea Salad For Spring & Easter

The one I have made for 30 years and still much requested.

Seven Layer Salad

1-Chopped lettuce

2-chopped celery

3-chopped green pepper

4-bag of frozen peas

5-2 cups Helmans Mayo mixed with 1/2 cup or so of sugar

6-shredded cheese

7-bacon fried crisp and cut up

I layer it in this order in a 9 x 13 pan. I try to dry out the vegetables as much as I possible can before the layer. Then spread the Mayo mixture and add the toppings. Very very

delicious!  Just made this last Sunday. The most requested recipe that I own and I own ALOT>

Re: 1 (16 ounce) can of white corn, drained

I'm pretty sure you can also find that in your freezer section, if you're interested.  You mentioned only being able to find small cans of it.

Thanks for that info.  The person who gave me the recipe used white shoepeg corn and it comes in an odd sized can.  Works well in the salad.   I will check the freezer section and see what they have.  Interesting thought!
