While I'm on the subject of "mystery" recipes (my "Salmon Puffs" post), I was wondering if you ever were able to recreate the dessert you remembered your mother making that you asked about in your post "looking for recipe" :

my mother used to serve a dessert concoction of sour cream, creme de cacao, canned cherries - and maybe kirsch or other ingredients. my memory fails me and i can't find her recipe does this sound familiar to anyone? HELP!

The dessert sounded so good, and I still look for something similar every time I see an article about fruit recipes.
