PISTACHIO DESSERT

INGREDIENTS for CRUST:

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 1/3 stick maragine (NOT CUP)

2 Tablespoons sugar

DIRECTIONS:

1. Mix above three ingredients well and spread with fingers (pat down) in a 9 x 13 inch cake pan.

2. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes and cool.

INGREDIENTS for FILLING:

1 Large (12 ounce) carton Cool Whip

1 (8 ounce) package Cream Cheese

2/3 cup Powdered Sugar

2 pkgs. (3 1/2 ounce each) Pistachio instant pudding

2 1/2 cups Cold Milk

DIRECTIONS for FILLING:

1. Cream the cream cheese; add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add 1/2 of the Cool Whip, mix well and spread on baked mixture.

2. Combine instant pudding with cold milk in a large bowl; beat 3 minutes on medium speed. Spread over creamed mixture.

3. Spread remainder of Cool Whip over pudding; sprinkle with nuts, if desired. Refrigerate.

NOTE: When I worked at a school in North Florida this is the dish that the teachers requested I bring when we had a day to bring a dish to pass.............They rererred to it as "THE GREEN STUFF". {#emotions_dlg.wub}
