I came across this recipe in a Bisquick Pamphlet from 1959. Haven't tried it yet!!

Oven- Crisp Chicken

Heat oven to 425*. Mix 1 cup Bisquick, 2 t salt, 1/4 t pepper and 2 t paprika in a paper bag. ( I'd use a gallon plastic bag)

Place 1/4 c shortening and 1/4 c butter in a 9 by 13 inch pan. Heat in oven to melt shortening/butter. Cut up 1 chicken and shake chicken to coat. Place the chicken, skin side down in a single layer in the hot shortening. Bake 45 minutes, then turn over. Bake another 15 minutes until chicken is tender and done.
