do you have favorite iphone apps related to shopping for food, or recipe sites? My kids tell me there's a great one for organizing and color coding your groceries so that you always have a running list, and that it automatically sends you to the right aisle in the store. I'll have to find out which one that is. I prefer getting my recipes on the computer or ipad, since the phone screen is so small.

I have the apps for the grocery stores I shop in most frequently. You can create lists with them and download coupons. I find them very helpful.

I'd love to know which app you're talking about. I currently use a list that I typed up years ago which corresponds to the aisles in my favorite grocery store. I print out copies and the list is clipped up on the refrigerator. If we run out or run low on an item anyone in the family can circle the item on the list.

Thank you so much housecat. These look so interesting! I'm going to have lunch with my daughter tomorrow so will find out what her fave is, and show her these, too. I want to figure out how to do the 'thing' that lets the grocery list be updated on both my phone and my hubby's so that whoever is shopping has a list at hand. That's a feature we would both enjoy.

My go-to recipe app is allrecipes. Easy to search and can save the ones you like. Also, has a spinner that you put in the ingredients you have and then spin to find recipes to match.

Tooty Jane, the one my daughter uses is a simple one called Tote Bag. I went to Apps and typed in Tote Bag and downloaded it for 99 cents. I like it, too. It allows you to make several different categories/lists. I have one for each of the major places I grocery shop, and then in each category/list I have begun to list items I get from each particular place, and then select further categories which color code them, so that all of the dairy items are together, all fresh produce, etc.

I can email the whole thing to my hubby on his cell phone when he's out and about, but I maintain the ability to enter items. Hope this is useful to you.

shortmort: I've played with all recipes.com, but am not comfortable with the spinners, etc. However, all recipes.com is a favorite of mine on the internet. Maybe I need to put a little more effort into it. I have it on Kindle and seem to 'fight' with it. Thanks for mentioning it; I'll check it out again.
