Being a microwave, convection and Nuwave or even pressure cooking at times I am in need of assistance.
I am helping someone that has had most of her teeth removed and is on day 2.
How can I provide a good meal for her. I have never been in a position like this and I wish I had of been more attentive to home instead of all career sometimes.
I will check back later for feedback.
Thank you/

I would think starting with some good soups, with nice flavorful but soft bread (crust removed initially to make it softer), then work up to some pasta dishes. Over time those gums will be less sore and start to heal & toughen up so that other food choices can be minced or diced into small/tiny pieces. You can also puree foods – they often look less appealing but can still be tasty. Egg dishes are a good option, too. Hope that helps get you started and get the thought process going of things to look for or create that might involve some of her favorite flavors and ingredients.
Think about the foods, too. For example mashed potatoes would be good and you can add chesse, or garlic, etc. for variety. Yet peas with that tougher skin might be trickier for her. Seedless watermelon would be good, but raspberries have seeds that might be uncomfortable at first for her to deal with. Just think about the ingredients from the perspective of physical fell and palatability.

Do you have a blender?

How can they possibly eat? Stick with soft foods like applesauce, pudding etc.

I resorted to baby food. Most of it is not salted but adding salt is simple if you need it. This too shall pass.
The fruits are very good. Even the meats are not terrible and the veggies are OK.

I'm thinking soups, broths, cut up real small any noodles to prevent choking. Applesauce, puddings, things like that. Popcicles and the like and liquids for hydration.

Yes I do, I has been on the counter for several years
I made a broth from chicken and other veggies, thickened with flour. Removed all the ingredients that required chewing and topped it Parmesan. She had it twice today.
I made a pudding for her sugar level also with the medication given I need to make sure she has something to absorb it all. My heart goes out to anyone going through this type of pain and no family around to help.
I will have to figure something out for tomorrow.

Due to TMJ I have been dealing with this problem for many years. Back in the day, I would use a blender to grind up whatever food I made for my family. These days I make a lot of soup and blend the veggies and what not. Then there is yogurt, ice cream and such. I cook beans in my crock pot and then put them in the blender - bean soup. Bananas might work out or they could be mashed up with peanut butter. Good luck. How nice of you go help out.
