Mocktail Recipes - Could I have some suggestions for 4th of July cookout, please?

We are having a small gathering for the 4th and some of us can no longer drink alcohol due to medical issues, so I would like to have a couple of refreshing mocktails on deck. Do you have any tasty, easy recipes that you could share?

Thanks so much!

No-one has any non-alcoholic ""mocktails"" for me?? I was hoping I could count on you for some good recipes!!! O.k. I will have to try and think of something myself. :-)

I don't have any that I have actually tried, but Allrecipes has some that I want to - they look really good. One is a Virgin Cucumber Majito that looks really refreshing.

Here is one that I believe was on this board a while back:

<h3 style="margin: auto 0in;">Ingredients:</h3>
  • strawberry sugar, for the rim of the glasses, optional
  • 2 16-oz. packages Driscoll's fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 2 c. chopped seedless watermelon
  • juice and zest of 1 large lemon
  • 2 T. sugar, or more to taste
  • 4 c. crushed ice
  • additional fresh strawberries, plus lemon wedges, for garnish if desired
<h3 style="margin: auto 0in;">Preparation:</h3>

For the rimmed sugar on the glasses, run the cut side of a lemon wedge around the rim of a glass. Dip rim into a small bowl of strawberry sugar. Repeat with remaining glasses, set aside.

In a blender, purée strawberries, watermelon, lemon juice and zest, and sugar. Test for flavor and sweetness. If it needs a bit more sweetness, add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time. If you would like more lemon flavor, add more juice and zest. I don't call for much sugar because I didn't intend for this to be a super sweet and sugary lemonade. I wanted the fruit flavors to shine through, with minimal sugar. But adjust to your liking. Add crushed ice and blend until desired consistency is reached. Divide between glasses and garnish with strawberries and lemon wedges.

Frozen Margarita Mocktails

Cook time: 0 min
Total time: 0 min

  • ½ lime, cut into 4 wedges
  • 1 can (6 oz) frozen limeade
  • ÂĽ cup orange juice
  • 4 cups ice cubes
Instructions
  1. Place salt in a flat dish. Rub rims of glass with a lime wedge. Dip rim into salt. Blend all other ingredients in a blender for 1-2 minutes or until crushed.
  2. Helpful Hint: In place of the frozen limeade, you can also use the No Worries Mixers, 5 calorie, no alcohol margarita mix. It's right beside the frozen limeade!

Continuing with above:

<h1 class="entry-title" style="font-size: 30px; margin: 0px 0px 10px; padding: 0px; line-height: 1.25; font-family: 'Ostrich Sans'; color: #666666;"> Frozen Margarita Mocktails</h1>

You have got to try these frozen margarita mocktails (no alcohol)! The first time I made this delicious concoction was for a ladies event at our church. They were a big hit and I had to make a lot of them. This recipe, however, makes four. But you will probably want to double or triple it! It’s the perfect summertime party drink and only takes five ingredients, including the salt and ice!

Re: Mocktail Recipes - Could I have some suggestions for 4th of July cookout, please?

I keep a Mocktail Book on my Kindle and use the Kindle on an easel stand in the kitchen at the drinks bar. You can do the same by putting it on your laptop or phone. That way, I can pull out recipes to mix up before a party. MANY people do not or cannot drink. I can't drink but one drink, so if I want to look "festive" at a party, it's mocktails. These are yummy. There is a Lemonade Mojito and a Lavender Lemonade I like a lot, as well as a Pomegranate Bellini. A lot more, but those are my faves.

Sparkling Pomegranate Punch:

1 quart pomegranate juice

2 cups orange juice

2 cups chilled limeade

1 liter bottle of ginger ale or a lemon-lime soda (the alcohol version calls for a bottle of Prosecco)

lime and orange slices, for garnish

In a punch bowl combine the pomegranate juice, orange juice and limeade. Pour in the ginger ale (or lemon-lime soda). Float lime and orange slices on top. Ladle into 12 ice-filled glasses. Serves 12.

* This would be festive for 4th of July with the bright red pomegranate color. I usually put an ice ring in my punch bowl. It keeps it nice and cold, but doesn't melt as quickly as individual ice cubes, so i doesn't dilute the punch as much.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

This is my blueberry-grapefruit spritzer. It's delicious!

1/4 cup blueberries
3 fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Grapefruit soda, chilled

In a glass, crush the blueberries and the mint. Add the lime juice. Pour the grapefruit soda over the top. Served ice cold or over ice. Yum!
