I found the tate's recipe on food.com and copied it. I think I will try this for next weekend. Thanks for all the help, ladies! My husband and sons love cc cookies in any shape or form, so I know they will like the cake too. And this is something I will be able to resist, so it is a win-win for me. I made something kind of similar a few years ago at Easter using the chocolate wafer cookies and plain whipped cream that was a big hit. I even liked it, lol.
