Meat Loaf In A Loaf
1 round loaf french Bread
1 can evaporated milk
3/4 of a small onion
1 small green pepper...diced
1 pound ground beef
1 egg...slightly beaten
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
hot spicy tomato sauce...optional
Preheat oven to 350* Lightly grease baking dish. Cut a thin slice from the top of the bread. Scoop out the inside of the loaf. Measure 2 cups of this and then soak in the can of milk for 10 minutes. Add onion, pepper, beef, egg, salt, pepper and worcestershire sauce. Work with your hands til thoroughly mixed. Fill the bread cavity with the meat mixture. Put the bread top back on. Place in baking dish and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove from oven and slice. Serve hot with or without the tomato sauce.
