I love mine on toast!  Of course, it's best made with Dukes mayonnaise!

@SurferWife  I saw several recipes that called for Dukes, but I didn't find it at my grocery store.

@PA Mom-mom

It's a Southern mayonnaise.  We have to order it online since we don't currently live in the south.

Re: Masters Pimento Cheese Spread

@PA Mom-mom  Shredded smoked Gouda is a great substitute for any of the cheeses in recipe. Maybe add some chopped jalapeño.

@PA Mom-mom  Thanks for sharing that recipe! I'll add to the melee by adding the recipe from Harper's restaurant in Charlotte NC.

Re: Masters Pimento Cheese Spread

I've made this recipe using roasted red peppers (in the jar) instead of pimento and it's just as good.

This cheese spread is also good "hurricane rations" for those of us in hurricane country.  Keeps really well in a cooler, great on bread, crackers, celery sticks, carrots.  Fast, easy no-cook meal when the power is out.

An estimated 700,000 people around the world, 400,000 of them children, have died so far due to the discontinuation of the USAID program.

@PA Mom-mom

Thank you for sharing this recipe. I LOVE pimento cheese spread ... but no one else in my family will eat it. sigh. So I tend to buy whatever brand they sell at the local deli as a sometime treat. I love it on fresh baked bread. I could just eat it like pudding ... lol ... but I try to only do that when it's down to the last little bit in the container. I have to be somewhat civilized. @Hilery

👍👍👍 to the jalapeños!  There used to be a local grocery chain, Ukrops, in my area that made the best Jalapeño Pimento Cheese.

@vabreeze  and @Hilery  I think I would add minced jalapeno the next time I make this and cut back on the cayenne. It would add more depth of flavor than the cayenne alone. Thanks!

ETA: I love using smoked gouda in my cheese sauce and mac and cheese, so why not this recipe!

I wouldn't.  It will be a watery mess when it thaws.
