Maple Fried Apples With Sausage
1 package link sausages (12 - 15 sausages in package)
6 apples
2 Tablespoons apple juice
4 Tablespoons butter
1/4 cup orange juice
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
6 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
In skillet, cook sausage links til well done. While they are cooking, pare and core apples. Cut apples into thick slices. Put apple slices and apple juice in a covered saucepan. Cook over medium heat until apples are tender. Remove links from skillet. Drain on absorbant paper towel. Pour out excess grease from skillet, but do no rinse the skillet. Melt butter in the skillet. Add cooked apples. Cook over medium -low heat stirring frequently to release bits of meat that clung to skillet. Add remaining ingredients then continue cooking just long enough to blend together. Return sausage links to pan and reheat.

I have been unable to check the recipe swap for a week or so and am now catching up. I already have 3 of your recipes slated to do. Just stocked up on some sausage links that were on sale and now I find this wonderful sounding recipe. Thanks for sharing.

OK, silly question. Do I prepare the Orange juice and use 1/4 cup or do I use 1/4 cup of the thawed juice from the can?

momtodogs...Hi there. It is nice to meet you. Welcome to RS! I like your name by the way. There is never any silly question when it comes to cooking!
If you are using frozen Orange Juice, dilute it according to directions on can (add water) Or you can use the prepared orange juice that comes in the bottles or cartons. Hope this helps you.
