I am hoping to use the mini holiday loaf pans I purchased from tempt-ations to bake gifts for Christmas. If I have a recipe which I use in a regular size loaf pan, how do I adjust the cooking time for the small size pan?
I want to be able to give the pan with the bread baked in it.
Any suggestions?

I would check 10 minutes before the stated time on the recipe---I do that with everything I cook or bake. If it says cook/bake for 30 minutes I check at 20 minutes--and also when you bake something in a dark pan, you need to lower the oven temp by 25* too. Used to bake many bundt cakes for gifts and found out then as the bundt pans were black non stick mostly-----

My recipe is for a 9×5 loaf pan, and I want to make mini-loaves. Can you tell me how to adjust the cooking time and temperature for a mini loaf?
Your pumpkin bread batter should fit nicely into three 5-3/4-in. x 3-in. x 2-in. loaf pans.
Bake at 350º for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

Baking pans are measured across the top and volume is obtained by filling them with water!
Use this helpful chart as a guideline for the most common loaf pan sizes & volume:
5 3/4" x 3 1/4" x 2" (mini) = 2 cups
7 3/8" x 3 5/8" x 2" = 3 cups
8" x 4" x 2 1/2" = 4 cups
8 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" = 6 cups
9 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 2 1/2" = 8 cups
Words of wisdom: If you must substitute a loaf pan close in size, choose one slightly bigger rather than slightly smaller. Too small of pan can cause the dough to rise up & burst over the sides.
For example: If you are using a loaf pan with a 4-cup total capacity, you can't fill it to the very top with dough or quick-bread batter. You must leave a headspace of 1/2"-3/4" at the top to allow for rising and/or expansion as the loaf bakes. Well-written recipes (which most are) have already made accommodations for this, so always use the size pan they recommend.

When I use the smaller 5 x 3 x 2 pans for Pumpkin Bread I bake at 350° for 50 mins.
I bake the 9 x 5 pans for 70 mins.
