If you have a super-simple homemade bread recipe that doesn't require a bread machine, can you please share it with me?
I've baked bread a few times, but the recipes always required hours or days of proofing, punching, proofing, punching... I don't have the time for that.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you don't want to spend hours doing all that you need to do making yeast bread, then I think you may be out of luck. I have and use a bread machine and I have and use a kitchen aid mixer that will make the dough but still have to proof and knead. Are you thinking about a quick bread that doesn't need all the work? Otherwise, go to your local bakery and buy a good loaf of bread.

A few years ago I read a recipe for bread that required no kneading that was baked in a Dutch oven. My mother made it and said it was easy and very good. I'll make it one day - when I have a Dutch oven. ![]()

Ingredients
- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 12 ounces bottle of beer
- 1/2 stick butter, melted
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- 2. Butter a 9x3x5 inch loaf pan and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and beer and mix until combined. The mixture should be thick. Pour into the loaf pan and top with melted butter.
- 3. Place a cookie sheet under the loaf pan on the bottom rack. The melted butter may spill over.
- 4. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean and is firm to the touch. Cool slightly and serve warm or room temperature.
@Zhills holy cats I think you have given me a bread recipe that I can actually make . . . thank you so much for this (and I hope you are feeling better each day)!

I like a light beer because it has less hops flavor...I use a room temp beer.Dont forget to grease the pan you bake it in unless you have nonstick
