Looking for a super-simple bread recipe, no bread machine.

If you have a super-simple homemade bread recipe that doesn't require a bread machine, can you please share it with me?

I've baked bread a few times, but the recipes always required hours or days of proofing, punching, proofing, punching... I don't have the time for that.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you don't want to spend hours doing all that you need to do making yeast bread, then I think you may be out of luck. I have and use a bread machine and I have and use a kitchen aid mixer that will make the dough but still have to proof and knead.  Are you thinking about a quick bread that doesn't need all the work? Otherwise, go to your local bakery and buy a good loaf of bread.

A few years ago I read a recipe for bread that required no kneading that was baked in a Dutch oven.   My mother made it and said it was easy and very good.  I'll make it one day - when I have a Dutch oven.  Smiley Happy

I find that I only need one tbsp suger in that beer bread and I don't even use the butter.It is really good toasted too.This is the only bread that I can make.

@Zhills @dex

Quick question, do you have a beer that your prefer when making this bread?

I am assuming a light beer is out of the question but do you prefer a regular beer (Bud/Miller) or maybe a darker lager type?

I like a light beer because it has less hops flavor...I use a room temp beer.Dont forget to grease the pan you bake it in unless you have nonstick

@dex thank you so much for this tip/information as most recipes seem to lean toward a "heavier" beer . . . thank you!
