Re: Lock n Lock salad to go bowl

I have not seen this item yet but sounds like it would work.  I have been thinking of suggesting a Lock 'n Lock Lettuce Keeper.  Recently, I have started keeping my lettuce in one of my larger containers.  It sure makes a difference!!! The lettuce lasts A LOT longer!

I would also love a locknLock for a head of lettuce!

I have a vintage green Tupperware lettuce keeper.  Don't use it often since I mostly use bagged salad mixes.  It has a little spike to put were you remove the core.  Might be interesting to see what Lock n Lock comes up with for lettuce storage.  (Like I need more Lock n Lock...)  :-)

I can keep lettuce quite a while.  I core and rinse it, leave on the counter about 2 hrs to drain, put into a gallon (in the summer it takes a 2 gallon) zip lock with a paper towel on the core  side, press out the excess air as I zip.  Voila'!

ECBG .... that is what I used to do...does work...for some reason I switched to the  Lock n Lock container  which I like better but both do work for keeping lettuce fresher longer.

@ECBG, I do the same and the lettuce is always nice and crispy. I prefer using the zip lock bag because it doesn't take as much room in my refrigerator....I can usually fit it in the crisper drawer.

I have a L/L container that I have had for several years.  It came in a set of three....little, medium, and large.  I rinse the lettuce, drain, take off outer leaves and put the veg - covered in paper towels - in the larger size.  Lasts quite a while!!!

Re: Lock n Lock salad to go bowl

I went to IG, asked Chris about whether it would hold a head of iceberg lettuce as from the store. She said it would. It is the Everyday Salad to Go Bowl.
