Last year Jayne Brown had a featured recipe online for cranberry sauce (relish?) that was her aunt's traditional recipe.
Cranberries, golden raisins, orange zest, vanilla, cinnamon, clove and chopped walnuts.
I thought it looked so good that I made it. It was wonderful and it's an absolute shame that I have lost the recipe and cannot find the feature with Jayne anymore.

we have been making this for many years now and everyone enjoys it even well past thanksgiving and christmas. if you like a chunky cranberry sauce you wont be disappointed. this recipe is easily doubled or tripled.
Sunshine's Cranberry Sauce
1 regular sized bag of cranberries
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 container or bag of frozen raspberries in syrup (if you use fresh raspberries or regular frozen raspberries without syrup add an additional 1/2 cup of sugar)
Juice of one orange or tangerine (about ½ cup)
orange zest from the orange or tangerine
2 large granny smith apples, peeled and diced
Splash of grand marnier, if desired
Place water, sugar, and cranberries in a pot. Place on medium high heat and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Once the desired thickness is reached, allow to cool. Add remaining ingredients and combine until well mixed. Refrigerate for at least two hours. This easily doubles or triples. You can also add a little bit of the orange zest if you like.
This also tastes delicious over vanilla ice cream!

I love cranberry sauce but I am the only one in the family except my son who will only eat that canned jellied sauce with the ridges on it....lol🫢
I love cranberries so occasionally I cheat and make a quick sauce by using the can sauce with the whole cranberries in it. I add in a pan some canned mandarin oranges with some juice, clove, cinnamon stick let boil enough to incorporate the flavors remove from heat and slowly add the canned cranberry sauce and toasted walnuts. It's not bad for a quick sauce.

@Tissyanne THANK YOU!!
I found Jayne's "Taste's Like Tradition" video and this time I had the good sense to bookmark it so that I have it at the ready when I want to make it.

I make my own using dried cherries along with the usual stuff but also add a touch of cranberry flavored rum---man is it good--was never one who liked the canned cranberries much--but this is really good and just gets better. But I do use the canned jellied cranberry for a delicious cranberry mousse --it has rasp jello and cranberry juice and then whipped cream!!
