Kate2357 I’ve always heard refrigerators were called Ice boxes in some areas years ago and any refrigerated pie was called ice box pie

Next week I'm making a recipe that I saw on Pinterest called "Summer Berry Icebox Pie". I know Aldi's will have all the ingredients and I plan to go there for my big August grocery run.

Graham crackers/Cream cheese/Cool Whip/Instant vanilla pudding/Milk/Strawberries & Blueberries.

Years ago they were "ice boxes."

You put a block in the top section and food in the lower one!

They worked!

We are not fans of graham cracker crust, would a shortbread crust be to sweet?

@Mom2Dogs

I don't know why it wouldn't. I use shortbread crust for most pies anymore and I think graham cracker crust is sweeter than shortbread.

I think you could use a shortbread crust if you don’t like the graham cracker crust with any of the pies

@Zhills @Shihtzursqmom  I have one of those antique oak ice boxes in my kitchen. I use it to store my stash of bath and body

products. My grandmother told me that it is just like the one that she had when she was first married, in the early 1900's.
