I've never seen a car tire cut in half.  I would not know what one looked like.   This pasta certainly does not look like what I would imagine a car tire cut in half would look like.

Have you ever driven on an interstate highway and seen a piece of tire on the side of the road, usually a re-tread from a truck?    That's what they remind me of!

@Tinkrbl44   I've seen tires on the side of the interstates before, used to drive them daily for the last 15 years I worked.  But I don't remember them looking like the pictured pasta.

But that's fine, it really doesn't matter what the pasta looks like, as long as it works in a recipe.
