How many cookies?????????????

Every holiday season when I begin baking cookies, the thought runs through my mind about all the other folks across the country who are baking cookies. I have often wondered if anyone has ever estimated the number of cookies that are baked in the U.S. during the holiday season. I'm thinking of individuals, not bakeries or factories. Just out of curiosity -- has anyone ever seen an estimate of number of cookies baked???
