Re: How do you like your tuna fish?

I always make my tuna with albacore tuna, just my preference.  This is how I make mine from a recipe I adapted from our local Co-op.  I used to be addicted to it before I transitioned to a plant-based diet:

Albacore Tuna 1-2 cans

Mayo

Lemon Juice - to taste 1-2 tsp

Dill Weed - about 1/4 tsp

Chopped Dill Pickle

Chopped Celery

I make sandwiches or add a scoop to salads and drizzle some Balsamic dressing over it; it's delicious!

Enjoy - Persus

Another suggestion for using already-mixed tuna salad  is to use the mix as sort of a dip or spread  for Fritos or sturdy rippled potato chips.

I do this when we have a little tuna salad left over and aren't worrying about whether the snack is really healthful for us!

Re: How do you like your tuna fish?

mominohio, I quit purchasing Tuna, it is really bad !! I have been buying Albacore i the vacuum pack packets, in water. I like my albacore in a cold salad with sea shell noodles and miraclewhip, sometimes a little celery, or just with lettuce and any salad dressing. Try the Albacore it's really delicious, and a good change every once in a while. And a albacore cassorole with noodles and hot cream of mushroom soup and club crackers ground up in my pull string grinder sprinkled on top before I bake it off.

@miata1 That's exactly how my Mother used to make it.  I always make it that way also.  Sometimes I add a little chopped celery to the mix.  I can't eat a tuna sandwich without two hard boiled eggs in it.

Re: How do you like your tuna fish?

I don’t eat it as much as I used to, because it doesn’t taste right to me anymore.  My favorite way was to make it the night before.  I used the kind packed in water and mixed it with mayo, lots of fresh dill, a little bit of finely diced celery, garlic salt, onion powder and pepper.  I’d serve it on rye bread with Bibb lettuce and paper thin sliced tomatoes.
