Re: How do you like your tuna fish?

I use Bumble Bee solid white albacore with Hellman’s mayo and a small amount of minced onion on lightly toasted rye.

Re: How do you like your tuna fish?

About every 6 months I get a craving for a tuna salad sandwich on toast.   I buy the tuna in a pouch, add onions, sweet relish, mayo, pepper, and a splash of vinegar.

Re: How do you like your tuna fish?

I mix a can of drained tuna that was in spring water with Helmanns mayo and a bit of mustard. Put on hamburger bun with slice of American cheese on each half and broil in the oven until cheese is melted. My mom made those for me when I was a kid.

Re: How do you like your tuna fish?

I make my tuna using this recipe even if I don't make it as a melt.  I also use this and make it as a casserole.

TUNA AND ROASTED TOMATO MELT

by: Tom Colicchio - from his 'wichcraft cookbook

notes: Makes 8 open faced sandwiches, 2 per person.

INGREDIENTS

2 - 6 ounce cans of tuna packed in olive oil, drained

1/4 cup peeled and finely diced celery root

1/4 finely diced red onion

1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano, or 1/2 teaspoon dried, plus additional for seasoning

4 tablespoons mayonnaise

juice from 1/2 a lemon

4 english muffins

8 tablespoons chopped roasted tomatoes (or sun-dried packed in oil, drained)

8 slices Gruyère cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the oven to 350℉

In a bowl, flake the tuna with a fork and combine with the celery root, onion, and 1 teaspoon oregano. Add the mayonnaise and lemon juice, mix well.

Toast the english muffins and top each slice with the tomatoes, followed by the tuna salad and the cheese, and season with additional oregano.

Place the sandwiches in the oven and remove once the cheese is melted. Serve open faced.

Raw, with rice, seaweed and wasabi!

As for the canned variety, albacore, with  mayo (Hellmans) and maybe some jalapeno jelly, served on an onion bagel disk!
