With the holidays approaching I was thinking about one of favorit "bacon" appetizers. I would wrap a piece (or half a piece) of bacon around:

lil smokie sausage OR

a pineapple chunk OR

a water chesnut

Then I sprinkle a little bit of brown sugar on top, secure with toothpick, then bake at 350* til bacon is crisp.

These disappear in a heartbeat!!!

I was wondering if anyone else makes these using something different. Please share

I like to do half a slice of bacon around a date stuffed with blue cheese baked in the oven! So yummy with really good dates

kdbrown9...hi. Nice to meet you. Welcome to RS! Oh yeah..lol I forgot to add dates to the list! I have never heard of stuffing with blue cheese though. Thank you for sharing!

keebler club crackers, crispy bacon, and brown sugar.............soooooooo delicious when baked in the oven!

I have a good friend who stuffs her dates with Mexican cheese, then uses that same 1/2 slice of bacon as above. OMG - these things are addictive! You must try them!

we usually stuff medjool dates with good feta cheese and then sprinkle them with ground walnuts. these are very popular.

We do Jalapenos - seeded and stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon on the BBQ. YUM!

Years ago I had a recipe where you wrapped bacon around smoked oysters....it was surprisingly good.
