Try using your crockpot - comes out perfectly moist. Found this out one year when I had the family coming for dinner and my oven died. I had two crockpots and two microwaves (and one of those was just a small one downstairs in the family room) and managed to do the entire dinner using them. If it's too tall for the crockpot you have, just seal it in with foil instead of putting the top on.

I slice it and heat it through in a frying pan.

We just don't think the spiral hams have as much flavor or moisture as the bone in hams. So that is what we buy.

Every spiral ham I've ever purchased did have the bone in it. I didn't know that was unusual. But I would sure agree that a ham without the bone is going to have less flavor.

We love spiral ham, heat in large Nesco with foil added.

Hi! Please tell me how long to cook it in a crockpot! Sounds like something I could do. Any type of ham would work, yes? Any brown sugar or other additions to the ham while in the crockpot for flavoring? Thank you!

It's funny, I've never served my Easter ham warm. When I get a spiral ham I just serve it cool or at room temperature. Once my Mom served her ham warm and I thought it was terrible!

Hi SrFitness, Here are three different slow cooker ham recipes. I was not sure what size or type of ham you had so I tried to cover bone in and boneless as well as varying sizes.

Crockpot Maple Brown Sugar Ham

7-8 pound bone-in spiral-cut ham

1 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 cup all natural maple syrup (yes, please use pure maple syrup and not pancake syrup)

2 cups pineapple juice

Use a 6-7 quart slow cooker. Unwrap the ham and discard flavor packet. Place the ham into the slow cooker stoneware, flat-side down. Rub brown sugar on all sides. Pour on maple syrup and pineapple juice. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours. An hour before serving, baste ham with the collected juices from the bottom of the slow cooker. When cooking is done, remove carefully and let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes before carving.

*******************************************************************Easy Pineapple Ham

4 pounds boneless ham
2 cups brown sugar
1 large can diced pineapple (not drained)
1/2 cup water

Place ham in crock pot. Mix all other ingredients and pour over ham. Cook on low for at least 6 hours.

******************************************************Brown Sugar and Honey Ham

1 6-8 lb. Boneless Spiral Ham

1-1.5 cups Brown Sugar

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

2-3 Tbsp. Honey

Mix together the brown sugar and ground cloves.

Place about 1/4 cup of this mixture in the bottom of your crock.

Place your ham on top of the brown sugar mixture, flat side down.

Drizzle honey over the top. Pat the rest of your brown sugar mixture all over the ham!

Cook this beauty on LOW for 4 hours.

You may want to baste it a few times the last hour or so.

Don't over cook your ham! It's already cooked, we're just heating it through. You don't want to serve a dry ham! Slice and Enjoy!

********************************************

A good glaze recipe that we use on our ham, pork loin etc is to mix brown sugar, honey, spicy brown mustard (we like Guldens), cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg. No specific amounts just everything to your taste preference and if it is a little thick don't worry, it thins out once it gets warm for easy basting. You can also it for warming leftover slices, just put some in a heated pan/skillet, add your ham coat with glaze, turn and glaze the other side, depending on the thickness of the slices, it should only take a minute or so on each side to warm through, any glaze left in the pan can be drizzled over the ham when you plate it. The glaze is also good on turkey, mashed potatoes (regular or sweet) and the glazed ham makes great sandwiches especially on a potato or hawaiian roll.

Hi! Thank you so very much!!!! Awesome! I truly appreciate you sharing with me. Since I'm a beginner, I think I will try the Easy Pineapple Ham first, for this Easter... and then next time, one of the others. Stater Bros have boneless ham on sale for $88 cents a pound, so I think that is what I will do...both the Maple Brown and the Sugar and Honey Ham sounds wonderful also!! Thank you so much! Happy Holidays to you!

Happy Easter All! Wanted to thank you all for your ham crockpot recipes! I made my 4 lb bone in with brown sugar on the bottom first then the ham with more brown sugar and a can of un drained dice pineapple. Cook on low for about four hours and let it wait in crockpot for a few minutes while side dishes were put on the table...awesome juicy sweet ham! Thank you all again!
