My husband is just getting over a stomach virus. I want to watch what I give him to eat. I made him eggs and toast yesterday and the only other thing I can think of is plain baked chicken. Does anyone have any other suggestions. I’m sure my husband would appreciate it.

There's the BRAT diet = Bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast.   Only to be followed for a day or so.

Hope your hubby feels better soon !

A 'no fiber' diet.....

tender meat

eggs

pasta (plain)

potatoes mashed

bananas

rice

applesauce - not apples

toast

We love Healthy Choice Chicken and Rice and Chicken Noodle soups.  The broth is yummy.  One can makes a wonderful large bowl and it's isn't loaded with salt.Smiley Happy

Also, pears in their own juice.

@SandPiper, I hope that you husband is doing much better.  As I was getting over the nurovirus, I had diffculty eating and relied on seasoned broth.  I stumbled on this recipe for Egg Drop Soup, which I had never had before, but was very good.

Ingredients:

32 ounces of chicken broth (I use unsalted chicken stock)

1 tsp ground ginger

1 Tablespoon soy sauce

2 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup chopped green onions, about 2 green onions

salt and pepper

Directions:

Combine broth, ground ginger, and soy sauce in a saucepan and bring to a simmer.

Slowly steam in beaten eggs while stirring the soup in one direction.

Add green onions.  Salt and pepper to taste.

I did not thicken the broth, but you could whisk together 1 T of cornstarch with 2 T chicken broth/stock.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

The key is to stay away from milk products.

Chicken soup.  In fact check on some other soups too.
