Well I didn't think I knew what a Paczki was but now I do.

I remember eating that when I was a kid in Hawaii. We bought donuts in there when they were making them fresh. They were so good.

My Babci (grandmother) made these from scratch!  She didn't fill them with anything, but instead put golden raisins in the dough.  As little kids we would impatiently wait for those soft, pillowy donuts to come out of that frying pot.  We had to wait for them to cool a bit and then we would put them in a paper bag that had powdered sugar to coat the paczki.  Babci would then serve us tea and those delectable donuts that were still warm.  So so good!

 

I miss those heavenly treats, and especially my beloved Babci.  She passed away 2 days before her 100th birthday.  She was such a kind and sweet woman.
