Good with breakfast or a bowl of soup.

1-1/4 cups flour
1/3 cup rye flour
2 t baking powder
2 t sugar
1/4 t caraway seed
1/4 t onion salt
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cooking oil
2/3 cup finely chopped ham
1-1/4 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese, divided

Preheat oven 400.

Lightly grease 12 muffin cups (or use papers). In medium bowl stir together flour, rye flour, baking powder, sugar, caraway seed and onion salt. Make a well in center.

In a small bowl combine egg, milk and oil. Pour into well and add ham and 3/4 cup cheese. Stir until just moistened (should be lumpy).

Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of cheese. Bake for about 1 minute until cheese is melted. Remove from pan and cool slightly on rack.
