GROUND PORK AND NOODLE BOWLS

1 pound ground pork
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 t toasted sesame oil
1/4 t ground ginger
1/4 t red pepper flakes
1/4 t pepper
Ramen noodles

Cook ground pork in a skillet breaking it up. Add the garlic when it is almost done.

Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes and pepper.  Add to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes stirring.

Serve over ramen noodles and garnish with sliced green onion.

The original recipe called for ground beef served over rice.  I tried that and was not impressed.  Then I did it again with ground pork and ramen noodles and it is a keeper for a quick meal.

@Imaoldhippie

I use a brand of ramen noodles that I get at Costco called A-Sha.  I would say it is one for each person.  Don't use the flavor packet.

I love this recipe that includes cubed chicken breast with ramen noodles.  I also like the A-Sha brand of ramen sold at Costco:

3 tbsp vegetable oil

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed

1 red bell pepper. sliced

1 tbsp minced garlic

1 tbsp grated ginger

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

3 1/2 cups chicken broth

12 oz ramen noodles

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

2 tsp toasted sesame oil

4 scallions, sliced thin

Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in large skillet.  Stir in chicken until browned and cooked through.  Place in bowl.

Add 1 more tbsp vegetable oil to skillet and heat.  Stir in pepper strips until softened and place in bowl with chicken.

Stir garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes into oil in skillet for a minute.  Stir in chicken broth.  Add small chunks of noodles to skillet, and bring to simmer for 3 minutes.

Stir in hoisin sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil and simmer until slightly thickened, about 1 minute.  Stir in chicken and peppers.  Garnish with scallions.

Re: GROUND PORK AND NOODLE BOWLS

Agree very good, I make the pressure cooker version similar to your recipe, love it, I think it is called inside out eggroll bowl.  I add fresh shredded cabbage when pressure cooking and more uncooked cabbage for crunch when serving.  I have made with ground pork and ground chicken, both delicious.  Thanks for sharing @DiAnne... now I want some!
