Fresh Figs -- any ideas?

I will search for a recipe soon, but.....if anyone has ideas for using fresh figs...other than just eating as is...I would appreciate it.

My husband is doing work at a home that has 2 huge fig trees and I was invited to pick all I wanted. Went there this morning and....was surprised to see these monstrous trees! I had no idea they got that big...

My Italian grandpa used to wrap his little spindly tree in black tar paper against the winter weather (he lived in Brooklyn, NY). So I wasn't familiar with how the trees looked full grown....they are lovely, but the fruit draws more ants and bees than anything....they ripen quickly and split open making a sweet sticky mess....

Anyway, I have a bowl full of fresh figs.....so....the search is on.
