French Broil -- Recipe Anyone?

a long time ago i had something called "french broil" at a friend's house for dinner. it was basically london broil that had been marinated in something and then put on the grill. it was the most amazing marinade i've ever tasted. i have never seen or heard about it since.

does anyone else heard of this and know how to make it?
